This lesson we was researching other horror films that are already published and are popular in the market at the moment. i first thought of films such as paranormal activity, nightmare on elm street, saw and the strangers. i thought if i done research on these successful horror films it would give me ideas of the things i could include in mine. i found that everyone of the films included violence and blood in them however with mine only being the titel sequence then i may not include them however they may be in one of the shots. i also thought the mask idea in strangers was very good and feel i could include that in my own horror film. i did not enjoy the idea of ghosts in paranormal activity and i do not feel that i could include ghosts in my movie as it would not be succsessful. i feel the tortureing in the film saw could be used in our own filming but would be very hard and with it only being the opening scene it would be too much of the whole film. finally in nightmare in elm street, the idea of usnig nightmares to make horror i thought was very good and could use in my own movie.
i also looked at the best horror films around, and i took this by the amount of profits the films had made, also the amount of films they made gave me a good indication for example paranormal activity and saw have made many films for example saw have made seven films and paranormal have made three. this means they have done well as they have been able to produce more of their type of films.
